MEMBERSHIP

Coalition members are primarily organizations and some individual organizers who are working on a campaign or providing services for those impacted by any aspect of the criminal justice system, and aligns with the coalition mission and principles. Others who align with our principles but don’t fall into one of these categories are welcome to work with the coalition in various capacities, but can’t be listed as official members.

Join us at one of our monthly meetings, on the first Thursday of every month at 3 pm. Contact us by emailing info@freethepeoplewny.com to receive the meeting info. If you are interested in becoming a coalition member, please fill out a membership form.

Over 175 organizations and 20+ state legislators have endorsed the #JusticeRoadmap so far to demand that New York’s legislature address the harms of the criminal legal and immigration systems on Black, brown, immigrant and low-income communities.

With the Governor’s State of the State address and the legislature in full gear, please join us in taking action:
  • SHARE THE JUSTICE ROADMAP: We are continuing to grow the list of supporting organizations! Please share the Justice Roadmap with your partners and ask them to endorse the Roadmap here. (We will be updating the list of supporting organizations and launching a new website soon.)
  • MEET WITH YOUR LEGISLATORS: Please share the full Justice Roadmap in any meetings you have with state Senators or Assembly Members. If you’d like to schedule legislative meetings specifically to talk about the Justice Roadmap, please let us know! We are keeping track of these meetings and can support if you need any assistance.
