Membership

Coalition members are primarily organizations and some individual organizers who are working on a campaign or providing services for those impacted by any aspect of the criminal justice system, and aligns with the coalition mission and principles. Others who align with our principles but don’t fall into one of these categories are welcome to work with the coalition in various capacities, but can’t be listed as official members.

Join us at one of our monthly meetings, on the first Thursday of every month at 3 pm. Contact us by emailing info@freethepeoplewny.com to receive the meeting info. If you are interested in becoming a coalition member, please fill out a membership form.

Justice for Daniel Prude
“A Sanctuary for Daniel Prude” Art Installation by Rashaad Johnson & Cocoa Rae
(In-person) Starting and Ending Location: Daniel Prude Square – 285 E. Main St, Rochester NY 14604
Daniel’s Law Coalition will kick the day off with a rally and walk across the city of Rochester with the Prude family to raise awareness for Black Mental Health and honor Daniel Prude’s life. Upon return, there will be free food (vegan and gluten-free options included), music, and mental health resources available. There will also be a monumental art installation called “A Sanctuary for Daniel Prude” by Rochester artists Cocoa Rae, Rashaad Johnson and many others, highlighting the 2020 Rochester uprising and the ongoing fight for Black Lives!
